Oven Repairs & Installation Perth

Oven Not Working? New Oven to Connect? We’ll Sort It.

Your Oven Has Stopped Working - Is It the Oven or the Electrics?

When an oven stops working, most people assume the oven itself is faulty. But a lot of oven problems are actually electrical, a tripped circuit, a failed dedicated outlet, a wiring fault or an undersized circuit that can’t handle the load. Getting the electrical side properly diagnosed first saves you the cost of an unnecessary appliance repair or replacement.

Equally, connecting a new oven isn’t something that should be done without a licensed electrician. Most electric ovens require a dedicated circuit and a hardwired connection, not a standard power point, and doing it incorrectly creates a safety risk and may void your appliance warranty.

Here’s what we commonly get called out for:

  • Oven has no power and the circuit breaker keeps tripping
  • New oven to be connected or hardwired, new build or replacement
  • Existing oven circuit needs upgrading for a larger or higher-powered appliance
  • Dedicated oven circuit required where one doesn’t currently exist
  • Oven outlet or wiring fault diagnosed and repaired
  • Cooktop installation or replacement alongside oven works
  • Rangehood electrical connection as part of a kitchen renovation

An Oven Connected Incorrectly Is a Fire Risk, Not Worth the Shortcut

Connecting an electric oven to a circuit that isn’t rated for it, using an incorrect outlet type or skipping a dedicated circuit creates a genuine fire risk over time — particularly under sustained cooking loads. It can also void your appliance warranty and create complications with your home insurance if something goes wrong.

Getting it done properly by a licensed electrician costs a fraction of what it costs to fix the consequences of getting it wrong. And it means your oven runs correctly, safely and without tripping your switchboard every time you use it.

Not Sure if It’s the Oven or the Electrics?

We’ll diagnose the electrical side properly and give you an honest answer before any work is carried out — no guesswork, no unnecessary costs.

We Diagnose It First - Then Fix It Properly

Whether it’s a fault repair or a new installation, here’s exactly how we approach every oven electrical job:

We check the electrical supply first
Before assuming the oven is faulty, we test the electrical supply, the outlet, the circuit and the switchboard connection. A lot of oven faults trace back to a tripped breaker, a failed outlet or a wiring issue rather than the appliance itself.

We assess whether the existing circuit is adequate
Ovens draw significant current, particularly larger or dual-fuel models. We check whether the existing circuit is rated to handle the appliance safely. If it isn’t, we’ll advise on what’s needed before the installation proceeds.

We install a dedicated circuit where required
Most electric ovens require a dedicated hardwired circuit, not a standard GPO. Where one doesn’t exist or needs upgrading, we install it correctly, run from the switchboard, correctly rated and protected.

We connect and test the appliance
Once the electrical supply is confirmed or installed, we connect the oven, confirm all functions are operating correctly and test the circuit protection. You won’t be left with an oven that’s connected but untested.

We leave the job clean and tidy
Kitchen electrical work needs to be done neatly, particularly in renovated or recently fitted kitchens. We take care with the finish and leave the area in the condition we found it.

Frequently asked questions.

1. Does an electric oven need a dedicated circuit?

Yes, most electric ovens require a dedicated hardwired circuit rather than a standard power point. The circuit rating depends on the oven’s power draw. We’ll assess what’s required for your specific appliance and install accordingly.

2. My oven has stopped working — do I need an electrician or an appliance repairer?

Start with the electrical side. If the circuit is tripping, the outlet has failed or there’s a wiring fault, that needs to be resolved before the oven can be assessed. We’ll diagnose the electrical supply first and give you a clear picture of whether the issue is electrical or with the appliance itself.

3. Can you connect a new oven I’ve already purchased?

Yes, this is one of the most common oven jobs we do. We’ll assess the existing electrical supply, confirm whether the circuit is adequate for your new appliance and connect it correctly. If a new dedicated circuit is needed, we’ll advise upfront before any work starts.

4. Can you install a cooktop at the same time as an oven?

Yes, oven and cooktop installations are often done together, particularly during kitchen renovations. We’ll assess the electrical requirements for both appliances and ensure each has the correct supply.

5. How much does oven installation cost?

It depends on whether an existing circuit can be used or a new dedicated circuit needs to be installed. We provide free, no-obligation quotes so you know exactly what’s involved before committing.

6. Do you work on gas ovens?

The electrical connection for a dual-fuel oven, gas cooking, electric oven, is something we handle. The gas connection itself needs to be carried out by a licensed gasfitter. We can advise on what’s required for the electrical side and coordinate with your gasfitter where needed.
